When hardworking families needed affordable long-term rental housing on Saskatoon’s east side, our team matched their mission with CMHC to make it happen with the help of the Mortgage Loan Insurance Flexibilities for Affordable Housing Program.

The selected site allowed for a 40-unit townhouse community with 2 and 3 bedroom options in close proximity to parks, elementary schools, the university, and shopping. By working in partnership with the government, our preferred modular specialist on the prairies, and our construction crew, we successfully achieved the quick turnaround, comfortable design, and high quality that Saskatonians deserve in a home. 

Construction consisted of two 12-plexes and one 16-plex completed in just 8 months, including 17 garages. The project maintains homes priced at least 10% below current market rents, all of which are priced below 30% of Saskatoon’s median household income* to exceed CHMC’s unit affordability ratio by 500%.
