Big Block’s first project in the City of Regina, the National Affordable Housing Corporation's Plainsview Townhomes is a multi-unit residential building in the new Rosewood Park neighbourhood of Regina, located within walking distance from two new schools in the neighbourhood — Plainsview Elementary School and St. Nicholas School.

This project is part of the larger Coopertown development and will be some of the first residential living spaces in the area.

We designed an efficient floor plan that allowed our client to bring a fresh offering to the Regina market. The city also has challenging soil conditions, which required Big Block to use a different approach for the foundations compared to our typical projects.

This building has been constructed to the Net Zero Ready standard and will be monitored on an ongoing basis to determine its performance during our challenging Saskatchewan winters.

Plainsview Townhomes won the Canadian Housing & Renewal Association’s 2021 Sustainability Award for the commitment the National Affordable Housing Corporation has shown to energy efficiency and affordability. The Sustainability Award recognizes organizations that have undertaken a new build that advances sustainable development.
